Biography

Georgia Marie Snedegar, 86, of Buckingham Square died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Roy R. Snedegar who died January 16, 2001. Mrs. Snedegar was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was born in Mason County, Kentucky on September 6, 1923 the daughter of the late George and Maddy Tolle Whaley. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Ralph) Cooper of May’s Lick; four grandchildren, Rita (Anthony) McElfresh, Eric (Brandi) Cooper, Nathan Snedegar and Nicolle Bramel and six great grandchildren, Madelyn McElfresh, Wyatt McElfresh, Colby Cooper, Katie Cooper, Nicholas Bramel and Austin Snedegar; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Snedegar Haggard of Maysville and one sister, Vivian Hughes of Somerset. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Snedegar and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Georgia Snedegar will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2010 with Rev. E. Ray Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Rose, Harmon Rose, Bobby Dalzell, Allen Silvey, Anthony McElfresh and Fred Muse. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
