Alice Clarke Jones, 93, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away April 27, 2025 peacefully at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on December 6, 1931 to the late George R. Clarke and Engenia Handcock Clarke. Alice came to Maysville in 1968 not long after she had married her late husband, T. Frank Jones.

She was an entrepreneur who had a love for jewelry. She had her own shop Alice's Antiques and Jewelry that was located in Old Washington.  Alice was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Garden Club, the Tourism Board, the Red Cross Board, and The Old Washington Shop Keepers Association.  Alice was a graduate of Enfield High School and the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, North Carolina.

She is survived by her daughter Marcia Brown of Maysville, Kentucky; one granddaughter Melissa Brandon of St. Petersburg, Florida and one grandson Jason Brandon of North Carolina.

Besides her parents and her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her brother George Clarke Jr. and his wife Patricia Clarke of Petersburg, Virginia.

Funeral Services for Alice Clarke Jones will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday May 7, 2025 at 1:00PM with Pastor Wayne Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kirk Clarke, Tom Clarke, Michael Clarke, Kelly Clarke, Kirk Tolle, and John Denham. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the hours of the service.
