Bernard Harold Mason

June 12, 1942-February 1, 2026

Bernard Harold Mason, 83 years old, passed away February 1, 2026, peacefully in his son's home in Jeffersonville, Kentucky, after a brief illness. Born on June 12, 1942, in Murphysville, Kentucky, Bernard was the son of Harold and Lula Strode Mason. He grew up on a sprawling 600-acre farm in Mason County.

Bernard was preceded in death by his five brothers—Scotty, Boyd, Bobby, Harris, and Harry—and six sisters—Wilma, Judy, Mary, Ruth, Thelma, and Willa Lee Lula Bell.

Bernard was also preceded in death by his wives Patricia Ann Grabill Mason, Cheryl Ann Wills Mason, and Dorothy Timmons Mason, along with his children Glen Eric Mason and Paulette Mason.

Bernard's living relatives are sisters Janet and Pam along with his children Mark (Tonie) Mason, Kevin Mason, and Keith (Amanda) Mason.

His grandchildren include Cassidy Smith, Brooke Smith, Jesse Smith, Dylan Mason, Brandon Mason, Kaylin Jessica Ratliff, Alissa (Bradley) Blevins, Taylor Mason, and Alayna Mason.

Bernard's step-grandchildren include Jason Williamson, Ashley Bagford, Shane Vice, and JD Hester.

His great-grandchildren are Cora Ann Blevins, Carter Myles Dudley, Carson Eli and Silas Bagford, Elijah and Wyatt Williamson, Mylah and Knox Mason, and Holden Mason.

Bernard Harold Mason spent over 30 years as a logger and truck driver. Before that he owned a chicken farm with his Cheryl and children in Tollesboro. He resided with his family in Plumville, Kentucky, for most of his life.

Funeral services for Bernard Mason will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026 with Brother Milton Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories alongside his late wife of 38 years Cheryl Ann Mason. Pall bearers for Bernard's funeral are Mark Mason, Keith Mason, Danny Mason, Robbie Miller, Allen Henderson, and Jason Williamson. Honorary pall bearers Tim Mason, Dylan Mason, Keith Hehner, and Mike Collins. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers donations will be graciously excepted towards Bernard's funeral expenses a percentage of these donations are going to be donated to Suicide Awareness Program.

A celebration of Bernard's life will be immediately following the graveside at the Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department, 8002 Day Pike, Maysville, KY. This will be a potluck style meal, bring your favorite dish for a gathering of friends and family.
