Elizabeth "Betsy" Kirk Hiles, 77, of St. Charles, Missouri, and formerly of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 20, 2024, under the compassionate care of St. Croix Hospice. Betsy was born in Maysville, Kentucky, on February 1, 1947, to the late John "Jack" Kirk and Elizabeth "Babe" Bissett Kirk. She was a devoted elementary school teacher before retiring to Missouri.

Betsy was known for her boundless love of the color purple and her warm, friendly nature—she truly never met a stranger. She took great pride in her hometown of Maysville and loved sharing stories about her life there, from being crowned homecoming queen to meeting the one and only love of her life. Her love for Maysville and its community never waned, and she carried those memories with her throughout her life.

Betsy is survived by her loving children, Christopher Kirk Hiles and Michelle Elizabeth Hiles, and her beloved granddaughter, Kinley Elizabeth Hiles. She is also survived by her brother, John Kirk. In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Chuck" Kirk.

Funeral services for Betsy Kirk Hiles will be held at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home in Maysville at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024, with Tim Cabrera officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Christopher Kirk Hiles, John Kirk, Jack Kirk, Hagen Kirk, RJ Bissett, Derrick Berry, Tim Cabrera and Jerry Orme.
