Betty Jane Ash, 83, of Tollesboro, Kentucky died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. Mrs. Ash is a member of the Tollesboro Christian Church and formerly was employed with the Tollesboro School System and earlier in life, had worked for Merz Brothers Department Store and the Ben Franklin Store in Vanceburg. Betty was born in Charters, Kentucky on September 30, 1934 the daughter of the late Floyd Edward Doyle and Mayme Latham Doyle. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Hubert Franklin Ash; her daughter, Rachel Applegate (Randy) of Maysville, KY; her daughter-in-law, Reva Ash of Tollesboro, KY; her three grandchildren, Jason Ash (Alicia) of Murfreesboro, TN, Adam Applegate (Jess) of Louisville, KY and Ryan Applegate of Lexington, KY; her great grandson, Grayson Ash; Her brother, Jim Doyle (Jeanne) of Columbus, OH; her sister-in-law and special friend, Mae Doyle of Augusta, KY and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rick Ash and her brothers, Fred Doyle, Bill Doyle, Bud Doyle and Bob Doyle. Funeral services for Betty Ash will be held at the Tollesboro Christian Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 with Rev. Layne Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM.
