Betty Clark, 87 of Maysville, Kentucky passed away peacefully Thursday at home with her family. She was the widow of the late Donald E. Clark who died in 2023. Donnie was the love of her life and they were married for 67 years at his passing. Betty was born in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky on April 10, 1939, the daughter of the late Estill Harlan Iery and Lena Grace Frye Iery.
Betty attended Tollesboro High School. She worked for many years as a bottom cementer at the U.S. Shoe Company in Maysville and was the Manager of the T & C Snack Bar in the Town and Country Bowling Lanes in Aberdeen, Ohio for 40 years. She loved and was loved by many friends at the Bowling Alley including her work family Larry & Sue & Brian Aldridge and their family, Dwight Hurt, and others who worked with her for many years…Barb & Alan Clark, Joyce Gilbert, June Beckett and her granddaughter Trina Ledford and son-in-law Charles Ledford.
Betty was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother who was deeply loved and precious to her family. They affectionately called her Mamaw Betty. Sunday dinners were her specialty and everyone was invited.
Betty is survived by two daughters Vicky Clark Ledford and Pamela Clark Fisher Clark both of Maysville. And one son Michael Clark, Sr. of Mt Sterling.
5 Grandchildren: Tonia Ledford Simms (Timmy); Michael Clark, Jr. (Amy); Donavan Clark Upchurch (Taylor); Daniel Clark and Leah Fisher Macke (Richard)
12 Great Grandchildren: Zachary, Brianna and Savannah Simms; Alyssa, Jacob, Samuel, and Sophia Ledford; Paige Chaney, and Isaac, Emerson, Zoey and Finley Clark.
4 Great-Great Grandchildren: Brinley Ledford, Ethan, Aubrey and Brittan Chaney.
Betty is also survived by three sisters: Darlene Maples of Delaware, Ohio; Mary May of Maysville; and Linda Kinney of Tollesboro as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Trina Ledford and Charlie Ledford, Jr; one brother Charles Iery and two sisters Louise Ruggles and Annabelle Caproni.
Visitation for Betty will be held at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home in Maysville on Thursday evening July 16 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at noon on Friday with family and friends sharing personal memories. Entombment will follow in the Maysville Cemetery Mausoleum.
Pallbearers include Michael Clark, Jr., Daniel Clark, Samuel Ledford, Timmy Simms, Zachary Simms, Richard Macke and Darik Bennington.
Memorials may be made in behalf of Betty to Hospice of Hope or the American Cancer Society.
