Maysville – Beverly Florence Overly, 72, of Maysville, Kentucky
passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Hospice of Hope Care
Center. Mrs. Overly worked as a private caregiver for many years
and at one time was employed at the Hayswood Hospital. She was
the recipient of the Kentucky Colonel Award. She was a member of
Scott United Methodist Church and attended the Washington
Missionary Church and was a member of the Socialite Club. Beverly
was born in Maysville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Robert Lee
Thomas, Sr. and Mary Louise Dickerson Thomas.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Overly; her two children,
Carl Overly, Jr. of St. Louis, MO and Ceonna Overly of Maysville,
KY; siblings, Marilyn Commodore (Charles), Teryl Thomas, Lisa
Thomas, Randy Thomas (Katrina), Troy Thomas (Lori), William
Thomas and Chad Thomas (Millicent); her furbabies, Max and Bella
Rose; brother-in-laws, Freddie "Bird" Overly(Diane), George
Hord(Annie), Freddie "Mann" Overly, Darrell Overly; sister-in-laws,
Maurine Overly, Marilyn Overly, Mona Williams and several aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her
brother, Robert L. Thomas, Jr. and her furbaby, Barack.
Funeral services for Beverly Overly will be held at the Scott
United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2024
with Reverend James Turley officiating. Burial will follow in the
Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thomas,
Martinae Commodore, Jeremy Turner, Sharmar Humphrey,
Chadwick Thomas, Jr, Terrance Breckenridge, Troy Thomas II,
Amani Thomas, Michael Black, Sherman Shelton and Tjuan Overly.
Honorary Pallbearers are Keshaun Thomas, Billie Johnson-Lofton,
Linda Myrick, Josie White, Dr. Timothy Grosser, Jay Overly,
Gregory "Bimbo" Googe and Valerie Bennett-Jones. Visitation will be
held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the
service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers
