Maysville – Billy Joe Curtis, 54, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Mr. Curtis was a former employee with Emerson Power Transmissions and Stober Drives, Inc. and he was a 1986 graduate of Maysville High School. Billy was born in Maysville, Kentucky on June 4, 1968 the son of the late William L. and Peggy Jane Turner Curtis.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Darlene Lucas Curtis; his sons, Jacob B. Curtis and Dalton A. Curtis (Skibby McIntyre); his grandson, Maxwell Truesdell; his sister, Stella J. Curtis Linville; his uncle, Charles Turner and his aunt, Wanda Earnest. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Wanda Lester; nephew, J. J. Linville (Ashley Hamilton) and his nieces, Tiffany R. McKee Meyer (Brandon) and Darlene Gilbert, great nephew, Curtis J. Linville and great nieces, Kaitlynn N. Linville, Jazie M. Linville, Briley F. Meyer and Josi L. Meyer and his sister-in-law, Mary Lester Waldren (Donnie) and brother-in-laws, Wayne McKee and James M. Lester (Mary).
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leslie F. and Anna Mary Jett Curtis; his maternal grandparents, Wilburn T. and Stella F. Fryman Turner; sisters, Connie Curtis McKee, Mary Jane Curtis Morgan, Patricia Ann Curtis and Donna Carol Curtis; his nephew, Tyler L. McKee and his father-in-law, James Lester and his brother-in-law, James T. Linville.
Funeral services for Billy Curtis will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 with Bro. John Ray Dodson and Bro. Jason Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob B. Curtis, Dalton A. Curtis, J.J. Linville, Robbie Riggs, Ronnie Cooper and Rocky Moran. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kaitlynn Linville, Jazie Linville, Curtis Linville, Briley Meyer and Josi Meyer. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5 to 8 PM.
