Burl McCoy Fraley, 80, a resident of Dover, KY passed away peacefully Tuesday August 6, 2019 in the Hospice Care Unit at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY. with family at his bedside. Born September 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Virgil and Flossie Click Fraley. Burl was a member of Germantown Methodist Church and attended Lawrence Creek Christian Church. Burl retired from Browning Manufacturing in 2012 after 32 years of service. An avid hunter his entire life, Burl also raised Beagle hunting dogs and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Burl was also a wonderful storyteller and enjoyed passing the time with his wife looking for antiques. Burl is survived by: his wife, Patricia Bravard Fraley, whom he married February 25, 1994; children Rob (Carla) Fraley, Randy (Nikki) Fraley, Jill Hamilton, Mark (Tina) Jones, and Denise (James) McVey; grandchildren Meghan Fraley, Tyler Wallace, Kaitlyn (Jarrett) Moore, Austin Fraley, Leeah and Brianna Hamilton, and Jimmy (Tiffany) McVey, Kurtis and Blake Cooper; great-grandchildren, Rayleigh Thomas. Landon Browning, and Braylon and Zaiden Moore. Also surviving are: his brothers, D.C. (Marion) Fraley and Gerald (Terri)Fraley; his sisters Elveda (Tom) Innis, Jean Sparks, Patty Brisley, Maggie (John) Sledd, Debbie Fraley, Betty Fraley, and Rita (Chris) McHugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: his son-in-law, Jeff Hamilton; brother, Levis Fraley; sister, Lovenadell Fraley; sisters-in-law, Mary Fraley and Jeannie Fraley; and brothers-in-law Mike Brisley and Morris Sparks. Funeral services for Burl where held 1:00 pm Friday, August 9, 2019 at Knox & Brothers Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Dale Marlow and Rev. Jim Rawlings. Visitation was held 12pm – 1pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
