Obituary

Maysville - Charles W. Tucker, 98, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Charles was born on June 1, 1923 to Jerry and Nellie Teager Tucker in Tollesboro, Kentucky.   He was the youngest of four children.  On April 14, 1943, he joined the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.  Charles was a Seaman 3 rd Class on the U.S. Henry Adams Merchant Ship and 343 LSM.

Upon completion of his military service, he returned to farming and driving a milk truck for the Carnation Dairy.  In 1947, he met and married the love of his life Mildred Dixon.  The couple recently celebrated 74 years of marriage on September 2021.  The couple raised three children while working on the family farm.  In March 1967, Charles embarked on a new career at Browning Manufacturing while continuing to maintain the family farm. He retired June 1985 from Browning's after 18 years of service and he retired from farming in 2015.

Charles was a long-time member of the Orangeburg United Methodist Church. Anyone who knew Charles knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.  Beside his parents, Charles was proceeded in death by his son Barry Tucker and grandson Darryl Cracraft, his brother Harry Tucker and his sisters Georgia Tucker and infant sister Nancy Tucker. He is survived by his wife Mildred Dixon Tucker and daughters Tona (Dale) Cracraft and Melissa (Mark) Humphries, daughter-in-law Geraldine Tucker and two grandchildren Randall Humphries and Sandra Humphries.

Funeral services for Charles Tucker will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2022 with Pastor David Green and Pastor Garland Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Pallbearers will be Mark Humphries, Randy Humphries, Dale Cracraft, Danny Reeder, Keith Reeder and Robin Stewart

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Charles to either the Orangeburg Methodist Church or Hospice of Hope. Condolences at knoxbrothersfuneralhome.com
