David Paul Gilkison, 73, of Maysville, Kentucky died Thursday, September
12, 2019 at his residence after a brief illness. Mr. Gilkison retired from
Emerson Power Transmission, was a veteran of the US Army and an avid
hunter and fisherman. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on June 26,
1946 the son of the late William Paul Gilkison and Mary Kathryn Rankin
Gilkison. He is survived by his wife, Nella Hopper Gilkison; his daughter,
Amanda Polley of Maysville, KY; his granddaughter and his best buddy,
Sierra Polley; his niece, Joyce McClain of Maysville, KY and his brother-in-
law, Tommy Hopper of Flemingsburg, KY. Besides his parents, he was
preceded in death by his brother, John McClain. Graveside services for
David Paul Gilkison will be held at the Mount Carmel Cemetery at 12:00
PM, Monday, September 16, 2019 with Pastor Kevin Bell officiating. There
will be no visitation prior to the graveside service. Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or to the American Diabetes
