Maysville - Dora Evelyn Adkins Russell, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Orangeburg, Kentucky with loved ones on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
She was born on June 30, 1927 in Dewitt County, Illinois daughter of the late Charles Curtis Adkins and Lettie Elliott Adkins Littleton. She was a member of the Orangeburg United Methodist Church and along with her late husband, Stanley Russell owned and operated their farm.
She is survived by her two daughters, Bonita Russell Gill Jamison and her husband Frank Jamison and Peggy Russell Miller and longtime companion, Donald Jefferson; four grandchildren, Angela Harkness Davis Gill and longtime companion, William Brady, Jr., Albert Tant Gill, Janette DiMarcantonio Gill and Sandra Gill Testa and husband Jeffrey Testa; seven great grandchildren, Kyle Harkness and Samantha Harkness, Troy Davis, Felicia DiMarcantonio, Cheyenne DiMarcantonio and fiancé, Derris Thomas, Dawson Testa and Jocelyn Testa; five great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh Aldrich, Daniel Fontonez, Jr., Eva Harkness, Falisety Thomas and Aydah Thomas and another "little sugar" on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley Gordon Russell; foster daughter, Helen Fields; two brothers, Walter Adkins and William "Bill" (Jenny) Adkins and one sister, Anna Adkins Russell.
Services for Dora Russell will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2022 with Rev. Garland Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Albert Tant Gill, Roger Russell, Kyle Harkness, William Von Russell, Jeff Fields, Gene Cook, Daniel Adkins and Jerry Fields. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from noon until the hour of the service.
