Mrs. Beckett

Maysville – Elsie Maxine Beckett, 92, of Maysville, Kentucky died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Beckett was the widow of Robert W. Beckett who died July 19, 1975. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, retired from the Bank of Maysville and also worked as a bookkeeper for the Central UMC after retirement. Elsie was born in West Union, Ohio on December 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Harvey Elsworth Newman and Nell Bly Cline Newman. Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Nelle Chaney of Winchester, OH and Patricia Sears of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Elsie Beckett will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:30 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 with Rev. Mark Wilson, pastor of the Central UMC. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the hour of the service.
