Mr. Gary Wayne Sweet, Age 71, passed away Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the UK Healthcare center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Gary was born in Maysville, Kentucky on August 21, 1952 to the late Herman and Loretta Sweet. He was a retired farmer and laborer. He loved the outdoors, and spent his free time hunting and fishing. Gary was a very hard working man and loved to watch old westerns on TV.

Gary was preceded in death beside his parents by his wife Marietta Cooper Sweet. One son Gary Sweet Jr. Three brothers Jackie Sweet, Joe Sweet, and Ricky Sweet.

Surviving are three sisters Sue Tichenor, Louise (Bradley) Young, and Mabel Sweet. One grandson Hunter Ziegelmeier and one great grandson Lincoln Ziegelmeier. Special friends Matilda Porter, Candice Welte, and Ansley Barnes and many other family and friends whom will mourn his passing.

Services will be held Saturday October 14, 2023 at 1:00p.m. at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 625 East Second street Maysville, KY 41056. Burial will immediately follow in the Hill Crest Garden of Memories in Maysville, Kentucky.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday October 14, 2023 at the Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Gifford, George Linville, Tommy Prince, Chuck Cropper, Robbie Linville, and Harold Burton.
