Henry M.
O'Cull
Sep 14, 1939 — Oct 11, 2024
Maysville
Maysville – Henry M. O'Cull, 85, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center. Mr. O'Cull retired from Browning's-EPT after thirty-six years of employment. He was a 1958 graduate of Orangeburg High School. He loved his small farm in the Orangeburg community, the Maysville Church of Christ, the Meadowview Cardiac Rehab and enjoyed the staff and his friends there and the Deerfield community.
Henry was voted best all-around male athlete of his senior class for his participation on the Orangeburg High School Tigers basketball team from 1955-1958. He scored forty-six points in one game, while the opposing team only scored a total of forty-six points. His record stood for sixteen years in the St. Patrick gym as the most points scored in a single game. Henry loved buying and selling farm equipment and other odds and ends. He loved journaling daily, going back to 1970 to the present day. Henry loved McDonald's and loved spending time with his family. He loved his Lord and Savior and he was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ. Henry was baptized at the Oakwoods Church of Christ.
Papaw Henry (as we called him), was a very generous and kind man and loved helping those in need. For several years, he donated his time playing Santa Claus at area businesses. He loved making the little kids smile. Many times throughout the year, small children would think that he was actually Santa. At McDonald's, many times he went around the restaurant and he would give all the kid's money.
During family outings, he enjoyed cornhole and playing rook and he always played to win. Papaw enjoyed every day of his life to the fullest. Filling each and every one with the things that made him the happiest. The world was definitely a better place with him in it.
Henry was born on September 14, 1939 in Mason County, Kentucky on the North end of North Bear Wallow, the son of the late George and Grace Thomas O'Cull.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Linda Joyce Bigelow O'Cull; children, Suzy Carver, Jeff (Pam) O'Cull, Mike (Akemi) Huff, Sam Huff and Melinda (Jamie) Ball; grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Carver, Kacey Carver, Kortney (Caleb) Mills, Allison (Chris) Creek, Abby Huff, Amy Huff, Jacob (Frankie) Ball, Emily Ball, Latissa (Sean) Higgins, Ryne (Liz) O'Cull, David Huff and Daniel Huff and great-grandchildren, Luke, Macie and Cole Carver, Lincoln and Lucy Mills, Griffin Creek, Preston and Lexi Robbins, Jami-Lynn and William Ball, Ayslee Sell, Bella Huff, Kason Huff, Hayden and Jackson Higgins. He is also survived by his siblings, Norma O'Cull May (Roscoe), Anna O'Cull Farmer (Joe) and Garnett O'Cull Trimble (Shelby).
