Maysville – Herbert "Herbie" Hopkins, 76, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home. Mr. Hopkins formerly worked for Browning Manufacturing Company and also loved doing farm work. He attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Herbert was born in Maysville, Kentucky on September 7, 1948 the son of the late Truman and Goldie Florence Hopkins.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Jackie Burden Hopkins; his children, Dale (Billie) Hopkins of Maysville, KY; Lori (Michael) Duzan of Maysville, KY and Scott (Tammy) Hopkins of Mays Lick, KY; grandchildren, Bradley Hopkins, Brandie Fannin, Codey Hopkins, Jacob Hopkins, Brianna Hicks, Zachary Duzan and Isabella Hopkins; sixteen grandchildren, one great great grandchild; two sisters, Martha Combs and Betty Sweet and two brothers, Robert (Peggy) Hopkins and Marvin (Janet) Hopkins. He is also survived by his faithful friend and furbaby, Bo.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Gertie O'Cull, Ruby King, Joyce Cox and Mary Hunt and two brothers, Everette Hopkins and Roy Hopkins.

Funeral services for Herbert Hopkins will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 with Pastor Marilyn Rhodes and Pastor Wilma Irwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Duzan, Jackie Lee Sweet, Jimmy Clay, Jacob Hopkins, Codey Hopkins and Zachary Duzan. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Pollitt and Peter Stokes.
