Irene York, 89, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center. Mrs. York was the widow of Bobby York who passed in 2001. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of God and attended the House of Mercy Church for the last two years. She was an avid gardener and loved to sew. Irene was born in Irvine, Kentucky on October 19, 1934 the daughter of the late Walter and Molly McIntosh Shular.

She is survived by her four children, Pastor Debbie Horn of Maysville,KY, Pastor David York (Terry) of Old Town, FL, Danny York (Sandy) of Beattyville, KY and Shelia Caudill of Jackson, KY; fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and two sisters, Edna Shular and Shirley Walford.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two son-in-law's, Kenes Horn and Jay Caudill, three siblings, Lonnie Shular and James Shular, Gladys Bellamy.

Funeral services for Irene York will be held at the House of Mercy Church at 5:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2024 with Pastor David Collins officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 3 to 5 PM. Committal and burial will follow in the Shular Cemetery at Zoe, Kentucky on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
