James Wesley Greene, Jr., 76, of Chillicothe, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was the widower of Melinda Carver Greene. Mr. Greene was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U. S. Army. He retired from the Department of Energy. James was born in Maysville, Kentucky on July 4, 1947 the son of the late James W. Greene, Sr. and Opal Lee Smith Greene.

He is survived by three children, Olivia Greene of Chillicothe, OH, Jerome Greene and Brandon Greene both of Portsmouth, OH; five grandchildren, Kimara Greene, Rooney Greene, Brandon Greene, Jr., Kelsey Greene and Keylee Bradley; one great grandchild, Brandon Greene, III and four siblings, Melvin Greene and Margie Darnes (Alexander) both of Maysville, KY, Vivian Walker (Fred) of Lexington, KY and Thelma Peck (William) of Knoxville, TN and a host of family and friends.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Greene and three brothers, Larry Greene, Donald Greene and Ronnie Greene.

Funeral services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2024 with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Burial to follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Greene, Brandon Greene, Jr., Fred Walker, Jr., Mitchell Thomas, Sr., Tyler Black and Trevonte Walker.
