James Michael "Jim" Lester, Sr., 68, of Maysville, Kentucky died Monday, May 27, 2019 at the UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Lester was formerly associated with the Coca Cola Company and Browning's Mfg. Company and was the owner and operator of Lester's Construction. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on October 28, 1950 the son of the late William and Sarah Edgington Lester. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lucas Lester; his three children, Darlene Curtis (Billy) and Mary Waldren (Donnie) both of Maysville, Kentucky and James Michael Lester, Jr. of Brooksville, KY; three grandchildren, Darlene Gilbert, Jacob Curtis and Dalton Curtis; his sister, Janet Lester of Maysville, KY and his brother, William H. Lester (Patricia Gifford Lester) of Lexington, KY; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Ruth "Sissy" Lester, his brother Marion Floyd Lester and his sister-in-law, Patricia Markwell Lester. Funeral services for Jim Lester will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2019 with Brother Arthur Whiteman officiating. Burial will be in the Wedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Curtis, Jacob Curtis, Dalton Curtis, Anthony Florence, James M. Lester, Jr. and Albert Lucas. Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley Lucas, Mary Lucas, Donnie Waldren, Darlene Gilbert and John Duncan. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM.
