Janice B. Collings, 85, of Maysville, Kentucky died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at her residence. She was the widow of Louis W. Collings. Mrs. Collings was retired from the Utility Commission after thirty-four years of service. She was a member of the Maysville First Christian Church, involved in the mailbox homemakers and a volunteer for RSVP. Janice was born in Greenup County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Thomas and Norsa Wells Batchelor. She is survived by her son, Louis Cole Collings of Maysville, KY; her daughter, Jennifer Lu Collings of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Shannon Clay Collings, Hollianne Collings and Kristin Collings; three great grandchildren, Taylence Jarrell, Leland Jarrell and Britton Jarrell; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Tolle of Maysville, KY; her sister, Marty Downing of Maysville, KY, half granddaughter, Penny Stanfield and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas C. Collings, sisters, Mary Lowe Ingram and Gail Moran, her sister-in-law, Shirley Collings Toncray; her brothers-in-law, Ray Toncray, Kenny Ingram and Gene Downing. Memorial services for Janice B. Collings will be held at the First Christian Church at 4:00 PM Sunday, December 1, 2019 with Chaplain Keith Sergent officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service.
