Jeffrey McClain, 69, of Maysville, died on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center following a long battle with heart disease, cancer, and other ailments.
He was born in Maysville on Dec. 4, 1956, the son of the late Maizie Taylor McClain and Warner Ewing and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Following his graduation from Maysville High School, he enlisted and served in the US Army. Jeff loved to laugh and loved to share laughter with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alesia Burns; sister, Yvetta McClain Copridge; and half-sisters, Jennifer and Janette Turner.
He is survived by his brother, Garry McClain of Maysville; sister, Penny McClain of Frankfort; and two granddaughters, Laniah and Leiyonna Crump of Maysville; nephews Michael McClain of Nashville, TN; Jerome (Whitney) Turner of Lexington; Garry McClain, Jr.; and Jermaine Turner of Maysville; nieces Melinda McClain of Lexington; Tiffani Copridge of Maysville; Sheri (Stephon) Bruton of Louisville; Melanie McClain Johnson; Brittany McClain; Maizie McClain; Luciana Turner; and Kaneesha DeJanette all of Maysville; Jennifer McClain of Buffalo, NY; Sarah Cogan of Louisville; and LyDonna Turner of Cincinnati, OH. In addition, Jeff is survived by numerous great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Services for Jeffrey McClain will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church (501 Forest Avenue, Maysville) on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Terence Taylor officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Garry McClain, Jr., Garryon McClain, Daierus Johnson, Demarcus Gibbs, Rheuben Bluford, Jr. and Laron White. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael McClain, Sr., Cindy Mayberry and Bravion Slater.
