Maysville
Maysville – Jessie Marie Stevenson McFarland, 81, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at home with her daughter, Jennifer, and granddaughter, Michaela, by her side. Jessie was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on July 11, 1941, the daughter of the late Erie and Laura Virginia Conley Stevenson. She sold Avon for over thirty-two years and loved it dearly along with all of her customers, which she referred to as friends. She was an active member of the Plainview Baptist Church. She loved cooking and when you went to Ms. Jessie's house, she wasn't going to allow you to leave hungry. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family. She was so devoted to her family. And, of course, anyone who knew Ms. Jessie, knew she loved to dance. Oh, how she loved to dance.
She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Arthur (Mike) of Maysville, Roy Shane Mitchell of May's Lick and Douglas Shawn Mitchell (Angie) of Germantown; a very special cousin whom she raised from age 10 and was always at her side, Stanley Cracraft of Maysville; six grandchildren, Aaron Smalley (Heather), Michaela Smalley (Josh Thomas), Scoti Mitchell, Kristan Stacy, Maxwell Mitchell and Brendan Todd-Mitchell; four great-grandchildren, Braxton Swanger, Madisyn Smalley, Landyn Gross, and Aubrey Gross, two sisters, Ruth Mitchell of Maysville and Betty Jo Mitchell of Germantown, a slew of nieces, nephews, as well as many, many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Gregory Dunaway, and a nephew, Sonny Mitchell.
