Maysville – Judy Gayle Johnson, 83, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at St. Elizabeth – Edgewood in Edgewood, Kentucky. She retired from the Mason County School System where she worked as a secretary at Jones Elementary and then at the Mason County Intermediate School. She was also a fifty plus year member of the Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, supervised the building fund pledges and served as the Church Clerk for twenty-five years. Judy was a 1959 graduate of May's Lick High School, a member of The Gideon Auxiliary and an avid collector of Longaberger Baskets.

She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on November 20, 1941 the daughter of the late Rev. James Thomas McRoberts and Geneva Swearingen McRoberts.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Johnson; her two sons, Kelly Johnson of Hebron, Kentucky and Todd (Cheri) Johnson of Maysville, KY; her two grandsons, Ryan Hunter (Julie) Johnson and Bryce Jordan Johnson; one great grandson, Elliott "Eli" Walker Johnson and two sisters, Carole McRoberts Newton of Frankfort, KY and Marian McRoberts Evans of College Station, TX.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers-in-law, Kelly Newton and Randy Evans.

Funeral services for Judy Johnson will be held at the Central Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2025 with Rev. Adam Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Paul Redmond, Kenny Craycraft, Scotty Hilterbrand, Craig Spangler, Dwayne Rice, Randy Mason, Mark Gray and Lew Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Johnson, Larry Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Robin Carpenter, Tom Carpenter and David Chasteen.
