Katie May Commodore, 90, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away at her son's residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Mrs. Commodore was the widow of Claude Arthur Commodore who passed in 2000. She retired from Community Hospital East, Indianapolis, Indiana and is a member of Scott United Methodist Church.
Katie was born in Maysville, Kentucky on September 29, 1935 the daughter of the late Ollie May Carter and Robert Fletcher.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Claude (Martha) Commodore of Maysville, KY, David (Margaret) Commodore of Cape Charles, VA and Melissa Hederington of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Howard "Tommy" Fletcher (Sandra), sisters Linda M. Pollard (Rauland), Wanda Jean Fletcher, Vivian Goode, and Yvonne Chinn, all of Dayton OH; sister-in-law Pauline Fletcher of KoKomo, IN and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Katie is preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Snyder; brothers, Eugene Fletcher, Robert "Bobby" Fletcher, William "Billy" Fletcher, James Fletcher and Edward J. Gallatin and sisters, Winifred Ann Gray, Jacqueline Fletcher and Mary Ollie Lewis; sisters-in-law's Daisy Fletcher and Lilly Fletcher White.
Funeral services for Katie Commodore will be held at the May's Lick Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2026 with Reverend Doctor Arthur Houser officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Prince Commodore, David Commodore, Sonny Binion, Ed Eans, Jaeden Smith, Jade Smith, Tyrone Hederington, Jordan Hederington, Keith Turner and Mike Turner.
Visitation will be held at the May's Lick Baptist Church on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home. Condolences at knoxbrothersfuneralhome.com
