Kevin Wayne
Mcroberts
Feb 16, 1959 — Jun 16, 2026
Flemingsburg
Kevin Wayne McRoberts, age 67, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished most. He was born on February 16, 1959, to William "Bill" McRoberts and Helen McRoberts.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Helen McRoberts; his in-laws, Don and Jean Cary; his brothers, Billy, Keith, Michael, and Vincent; and his brother-in-law, Ron Cary.
On March 4, 1979, Kevin married the love of his life, Donna McRoberts. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, loyalty, and love. Their marriage was a true partnership, and the family they created became Kevin's greatest joy and most treasured blessing.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna; his daughter, Michelle Hunt and her husband, Brandon; his son, Zachary McRoberts and his wife, Kristin; and his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Baylee, Kase, and Brooks Hunt, and the newest blessing to the family, Millie Paige McRoberts.
Kevin is also survived by his sister, Alois Dugger and her husband, David; his two very special nieces, Deanna Hitchens and her daughter, Alex, and Angie Jones and her husband, Aaron, and their daughter, Olivia; along with a host of family members, close friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Kevin was a proud small-town business owner who began working alongside his father, Bill, in 1977 to help build McRoberts Furniture and Sons. Through dedication, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others, Kevin continued his father's legacy by faithfully serving the community of Maysville, Kentucky, and the surrounding areas for nearly half a century. He took great satisfaction in honest work, meaningful relationships, and the many days spent in downtown Maysville, especially those shared alongside his wife and the very special employees who became more like family.
After many years of faithful service, Kevin made the difficult decision to close the doors of the business and step into retirement. Though the storefront closed, the impact of his work, his character, and the relationships built through McRoberts Furniture and Sons will remain a lasting part of the community he loved.
A Kentucky Colonel and longtime member of Dekalb Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Kevin believed in service, fellowship, and community. He carried those values into every part of his life, not through grand gestures, but through steady loyalty, humility, kindness, and the way he treated people. He had a gift for making others feel valued, heard, and respected.
Those who knew Kevin knew he was happiest when he was with Donna and surrounded by family. He could often be found cheering on his grandsons, Kase and Brooks, from the sidelines; watching his granddaughter, Baylee, perform on stage or through cheer; and enjoying precious "Millie Time" as he watched his newest granddaughter grow. Kevin found his greatest happiness in simply being present for the people he loved most.
Kevin was the epitome of a servant's heart. He was loyal, steady, respectful, and kind to everyone he met. He carried himself with quiet grace and unassuming strength, never seeking attention or recognition, yet leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The way he lived, loved, worked, and served spoke louder than words ever could.
For the last seven years, Kevin walked the journey of life after a double lung transplant. Even through challenges, he never complained. Instead, he remained deeply thankful for the gift of time and often recognized the blessing of his "extra innings." He lived those years with gratitude, courage, and grace, making memories his family will hold close forever.
Kevin's passing leaves a tremendous void for his family, who now face life without their beloved patriarch. Yet his wisdom, loyalty, strength, humor, and countless special moments will continue to guide and comfort them in the days ahead. His legacy will live on in the family he adored, the community he served, and the many lives he touched with his generous heart.
As Scripture says in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Kevin did just that. He fought with grace, finished with dignity, and kept his faith, his gratitude, and his love for his family until the very end.
At the request of Mr. McRoberts, a private service will be held. The family will be planning a celebration of life in the days to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kevin's memory to an organization supporting organ donation, transplant recipients, or lung transplant research, honoring the gift of "extra innings" that Kevin so deeply treasured.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home. Condolences at knoxbrothersfuneralhome.com
