Leo Frey, Sr., "Big Frey" went from Labor to Reward on March 8, 2021 at Hospice of Hope, Maysville, Kentucky. Leo was born August 4, 1931 to the late Wilbur and Anna (Beckley) Frey. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. Leo had 3 brothers; Robert, Charles and William and two sisters; Virginia and Emma.
Leo attended John G. Fee High School. He joined the Armed Forces of the United States of America, where he was qualified as an Army Parachutist of the 82 nd Airborne. Leo was Honorably Discharged. Corporal Leo Frey participated in the parade at the 34th Presidential Inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Leo was married 58 years to the former Anna B. Fields, who preceded him in death.
Leo was member of the Rocious Social Club and served on the Board of the Humphrey Park Playground. Leo was a member of Scott United Methodist Church.
A dedicated father and committed provider; Leo worked at Maysville Cotton Mill, Meat Packaging Company, Hayswood Hospital, South Central Bell, and retired from Browning Emerson Manufacturing after 28 years. Leo also worked part-time at the Maysville-Mason County Library.
Leo enjoyed fishing, hunting and sitting on his porch waving at those passing by, whether he knew them or not.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings, nephew, Lewis Barbour and oldest grandson, Leo Frey III.
Leo leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Linda Frey Thomas of Maysville, Leo (Helen) Frey, Jr. Denver, CO., Lisa (Thomas) Stephenson, Aurora, CO., Jon (Sonya) Frey, Maysville, Claudia Gayle Frey Grant, Denver, CO.
Thirteen grandchildren Kyle Frey, Ashlee Frey, Darwin Grant, Jr. Thomas Stephenson III, Calvin Thomas, Jr. Cynthia (Addison) Mills, Jontorri (Brooklyn) Frey, Tyler Stephenson, Jakarr Frey, Darius Grant, Xylon Frey and Xavion Johnson and Tony (Terry) Stephenson.
Great grandchildren, Anayah Gray, Darwin Grant III, Jordan Kimble, Jr., Coriana Grant, Jeremiah Frey, Theo Stephenson, Xahara Frey and Brielle Frey.
Loving niece, nephews and cousin; Donald Barbour of Lexington, Cecil Barbour of Maryland, Faye(Alan) Terry, Henderson, KY and Charlene (Louis) Gross of Maryland and a host of other relatives and friends.
