Obituary

Lisa Kay Reed, 59, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 surrounded by her family at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born November 5, 1960. She is preceded in death by her father, William "Bill" Jolly. Lisa is survived by her mother, Betty Ford Jolly who resides in Middletown, Ohio.

Lisa is also survived by her two children, Frank Reed and Emily (Devin) New; four grandchildren, Marley, Randon, Donaven and Botley; three sisters, Diane Perkins, Debi Hess and Lori Fox and one brother, Mark Jolly. She also is survived by one special uncle, Paul (Ada) Ford and many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.

Lisa raised her children by always guiding them to be good, hard working and kind people. They took many trips together, enjoyed having fun times and she was always there for them. Even into adulthood, her children looked to Lisa for guidance, love, help and reassurance.

Lisa was the third of five children. Her two older siblings helped show her the ropes and in return, she had two younger siblings to pass along her version of life's offerings. Each sibling had a special meaning to Lisa, ones she confided in, ones she looked up to, ones she partnered life with and having a baby brother became her mission to protect. Raised in a Christian home, her faith remained strong throughout her life.

Lisa's personality grew and flourished as she grew up. She loved life and the people in it. After graduating from high school and trying several career paths, she finally found her calling within the school system driving a bus. Beginning with Mason City Schools, then Lakota Schools in Ohio, Lisa moved to Mason County, Kentucky where she was currently employed. Her total years of service to schools was approximately twenty-two years. Lisa truly cared about the children she drove every day and each child had a special place in her heart. When school closed for Covid19, she used her bus and delivered lunches to the kids on her route. In the summer, she drove field trips for summer camp, Camp Discovery.

Although Lisa had a very busy working life, she always had time for a friend, coming home to visit the family and always kept her grandkids anytime she could. The grandchildren were the love of her life. It was nothing for her to drive her morning route, drive two hours to pick up a grandbaby, then drive two hours back to finish her afternoon route. She never passed up an opportunity to go to a school program, Birthday party, meet the kids at the pool or the Zoo or just love up on her grandchildren. Lisa always made it a point to call home regularly to check up on her Mom and see how she was doing.

Although Lisa had many hobbies and talents her love of motorcycle riding came later in life. She loved riding her own motorcycle and took every opportunity to ride with her children, sister and longtime significant other, Steve Fitch. Over the many years they spent time riding and taking memorable trips that she loved. Lisa was a member of Southern Cruisers Ride Club, #467 and loved being involved with them. She was also a member of the Maysville F.O.E.

Lisa never met a stranger. She could make friends standing in line at the grocery store. She'd speak to anyone and has made friends everywhere. She was loving, caring, helpful, sincere and fun. Her family and friends meant everything to her.
