Michael Scott Gardner, 74, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on October 11, 1950, he was the son of the late Estill and Christine Brammer Gardner.

Michael was a 1969 graduate of Mason County High School where he was one of the star players on the basketball team. He attended Maysville Community College and Eastern Kentucky University. Michael was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Air Force from 1973 to 1976.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Denham Gardner; his children, Whitney (Dean) Evans of Georgetown, KY, Mason (Heather) Gardner and Sam (Laryssa) Gardner both of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Hudson Evans, Isabella Evans, Oliver Gardner, Shepard Gardner and Theodore Gardner and siblings, Larry Gardner of Aberdeen, OH and Lisa (Bruce) Head of Beckville, TX.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Hartley and Connie Fetters.

Visitation for Michael Scott Gardner will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025. A private graveside service will follow with internment in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mason Gardner, Samuel Gardner, Dean Evans, Hudson Evans, Whitney Evans and Isabella Evans.
