Mildred Tucker, 96, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center. She was the widow of Charles William Tucker who passed in 2022. Charles was the love of her life and the couple were married for seventy-three years at his passing.

Mildred was born in Mason County, Kentucky on July 13, 1929 the daughter of the late John and Bertha Shaw Dixon.

She was an active member of the Orangeburg Methodist Church and was recently recognized for her sixty plus years of membership. Mildred was a Sunday school teacher for forty plus years, a certified lay leader, United Methodist Woman officer and sang in the Orangeburg Community Choir.

She was a 4-H leader and member of homemakers for many years. For eleven years, she and her four sisters conducted a weekly church service for the patients at Ohio Valley Manor.

Mildred was a wonderful wife, homemaker and a devoted mother. She helped her husband farm as well as helped him with his trucking business in their early years of marriage. She was an assistant manager at Monique Fabrics in Maysville. Her final public job was working at Alice's Antiques and Jewels in Old Washington and was also a tour guide for the historic village.

Mildred enjoyed traveling with family and friends and looked forward to any adventure. She was always ready to laugh and made sure others enjoyed her humor.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Bertha Dixon; two sisters, Wanda Rhodes and Geneva Boyd; two brothers, Newell Calvert and Elmo Calvert; her son, Barry Tucker and her grandson, Darryl Cracraft.

She is survived by her daughters, Tona (Jackie Dale) Cracraft and Melissa (Mark) Humphries; her daughter-in-law, Geraldine Tucker; her grandchildren, Randall (Ellie) Humphries and Sandra Humphries; one great grandson, Ezra; two sisters, Faye Ginn and Carol Foster.

She was blessed with two excellent caregivers, Robin Stewart and Loretta Barker as well as her excellent nurse, Sidney and all of the staff at Hospice of Hope.

Funeral services for Mildred Tucker will be held at the Orangeburg United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2026 with Rev. David Green and Rev. Johnny Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the Orangeburg Methodist Church or to Hospice of Hope.

Pallbearers will be Mark Humphries, Randy Humphries, Dale Cracraft, Danny Reeder, Robin Stewart and Rusty Ginn.
