Obituary

Nadine Crawford Barker, 90, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio.

Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Barker. They were married May 8, 1951 and spent 58 years farming; milking cows, raising tobacco, and gardening. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of Orangeburg Christian Church and served as chairman of the board for many years and was a member of the Mason County Homemakers for over 50 years where she served as county and Licking River Area president. She was born October 16, 1933 in Fleming County Kentucky the daughter of the late Tilton and Grace Moore Crawford.

She is survived by one son, Randy Barker and his wife, Jeannie of Elizaville, KY; two daughters, Debra Cotterill of Maysville and Myra Dillon and her husband, Danny of Midlothian,Va.; six grandchildren, Hillary and Justin Stevens of Lawrenceburg, KY, Whitnee and Shawn Askew of Blacksburg, Va., Jared Dillon of Midlothian, Va., Dana and Kyle Fawver of Glen Allen, Va., Deena and Daniel Davis of Nashville, TN, and Katherine Cotterill of Maysville; nine great-grandchildren, Marcy and Tristan Stevens, Meredith and Aidan Fawver, Iris and Heather Askew, Robert and John Davis, and Grace Taufua.

She is also survived by a brother, Danny Crawford of Grange City, Kentucky and many loving extended family members, church family and caregivers. Beside her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles Cotterill.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care provided by Ohio Valley Manor and Hospice of Hope.

Funeral services for Nadine Crawford Barker will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 23, 2024 with Rev Wayne Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Dillon, Justin Stevens, Tristan Stevens, Shawn Askew, Daniel Davis and Kyle Fawver. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM.
