Oliver Wendell "Wimp" Brookins, 77, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home. He was born on September 6, 1948.

Mr. Brookins was a graduate of Maysville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring in 1988. Following his military service, he worked as a dispatcher for the Maysville Police Department until his retirement in 2003. He was also a dedicated trustee at Scott United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Lee Mason and Charles Sylvester Brookins and his brother, Eugene Lane.

Survivors include his daughter, Cherron coleman and granddaughter, A'Naya Coleman of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sister, Connie Brookins of Texarkana, Arkansas; and his brother, Robert Lane of Kingsport, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held at Scott United Methodist Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Funeral services for Oliver Brookins will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Scott United Methodist Church with Pastor Claude Commodore officiating.
