Preston Parker, 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. He was born January 13, 1938, in Maysville to the late Ned Sherman and Elizabeth Irvin Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Janet Stacy Parker, grandsons, Michael Parker (Crystal) of Maysville, KY, and Willie Parker (Misty) of Flemingsburg, KY, and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Char, Carson, and Brayden. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Tee (Cecilia) Parker, a sister, Nancye Jessee, and a brother-in-law, Phillip (Linda) Stacy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preston retired from IBM in Lexington after nearly 30 years of service. Later, he and his wife developed a very successful woodworking business where they spent their retirement years creating various wood crafts showcasing them at area craft shows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only child, Jerry Parker, brothers: Tilman, Chester, LeRoy, Henry, Ray, and Raymond Parker, and sisters, Ruby Prather and Mildred Gilchrist.

Services for Preston Parker will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Orangeburg Methodist Church with Pastor Johnny Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow in Olivet Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope.
