Maysville – Rachel Ash Applegate, 65, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Hospice Care Center. Rachel was a member of Central Baptist Church where she served as the custodian and on numerous committes and she was a graduate of Tollesboro High School. She formerly managed the Maysville Sundry Store. Rachel was an avid gardener and geneology researcher. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on July 19, 1957 the daughter of Frank and Betty Doyle Ash.

She is survived by her husband of 47 1/2 years, Randy Applegate; two sons, Adam Applegate (Jess) of Louisville and Ryan Applegate (Brittany Hamilton) of Lexington; her grandson, Henry Applegate; nephew, Jason Ash (Alicia); her great nephew, Grayson Ash; her sister-in-laws, Reva Ash and Bonnie Condorodis (John) and her brother-in-laws, Dennis Applegate, Jerry Applegate (Annette) and Richard "Red" Applegate (Alisa); several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Franklin Ash and sister-in-law, Lanny Applegate.

Funeral services for Rachel Applegate will be held at the Central Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2023 with Reverend Adam Burton officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Applegate, Richard Applegate, Jerry Applegate, John Condorodis, Jason Ash, Steven Doyle, Mark Gray and Mike Stanley. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM.
