Mr. Ralph Edward Dunlap of Maysville, Kentucky went home to meet his savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday July 19, 2022. He was born August 17, 1951, in Maysville. He was the son of the late Wilbert Dorsey Dunlap and the late Hattie Wormley Gore Dunlap. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Maysville, Kentucky. Ralph enjoyed life and was a loving father and grandfather. He had a passion for history and throughout his career he taught history and civics in the Maysville Independent School System and retired from the Mason County School System. In addition to teaching, he enjoyed basketball as a player, coach, and referee. He also loved to golf and play cards. He was known as a big University of Kentucky (UK) sports fan.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a daughter, Tiffany Dionne (Allen Dugan) Dunlap and a son, Ralph Edward "Eddie" (Erin) Dunlap II; three grandsons, Jordan Montez Dunlap, Allen Christopher Dugan and Hastin Ace Dunlap; one granddaughter Mila Arielle Dunlap; and a longtime, loving companion, Frances Commodore. He also leaves two sisters, Wilma Johnson of Louisville and Alice Dunlap of Maysville; three brothers, Austin R. Gore Jr. of Maysville, David (Jo) Dunlap of Rancho Cordova, California, and Wilbert (Tanya) Dunlap of Hutto, Texas. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Dunlap, Mary Gore Yett and Nancy Gore Dudley and two brothers, Noah (Sonny) Dunlap and Jerry Gore. He also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services for Ralph Edward Dunlap will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2022 with Rev. Terance Taylor and Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 AM until the hour of the service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home. Condolences at knoxbrothersfuneralhome.com
