Ricky Wallingford, Sr. of Walton Pike, Dover, KY went home to our Lord on Friday, April 19, 2019. Ricky was a young 59 and went home too soon. He was born on March 17, 1960 the son of the late Eugene and Beulah Thacker Wallingford. He leaves behind his wife and soul mate of forty plus years Mary Applegate Wallingford; son, Ricky (Kayla) Wallingford II; daughter, Misti Wallingford and his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Macie Wallingford; brothers, Ron (Carla) Wallingford and Allen "Buddy" Wallingford; sister, Bonnie (Dan) Doyle; brother-in-law, Randy (Tammy) Applegate and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Wallingford and Linda Collier; brother, Billy Wallingford and his nephew, Shaun Allen Wallingford. Ricky was an Iron worker and welder up until his disability. He was so proud of the fact that he helped build and leave his mark on several buildings in Maysville, including the French Quarter Inn, the Maysville-Mason County Library, The Chrysler building and Maysville Auto Sales. He was an avid deer hunter. Funeral services for Ricky Wallingford will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 with Rev. Harry Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Charleston Bottom Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Wells, Harlan Cooley, Larry McDaniels, Mitchell Ruark, Bobby Collier, Jr., Jon Borgaman, Jacob Thomas and Terry Wallingford. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Wallingford II, Ron Wallingford, Randy Applegate, Shaun Wells, Danny Doyle and Jonathon "Tarpin" Wallingford. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. Ricky will be missed by all of his family and friends. Rest in peace – We love you.
