Russell Muse Jr., 86 of Maysville passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center.  Mr. Muse will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as incredibly kind, gentle and generous.  He was proud of his children and family and enjoyed reminiscing about days gone by and his adventures growing up in Lewisburg and Mayslick with his band of friends.  His stories will live on with those with whom he shared them.  His understated humor and acceptance of all those around him will be missed.  He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

Mr. Muse was born in Lewisburg in Mason County before moving to Maysville to raise his family.  He was a 1955 graduate of Mayslick High School and subsequently served two years in the Army where he was stationed in Virginia.  Mr. Muse retired from Browning Manufacturing where he worked for 40 years as a machinist.  He was a dedicated employee and served Browning's well.  In his later years, Mr. Muse loved to watch Kentucky basketball and was an avid collector of items.  Both of these he shared with the people that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Sherman Muse and Mary Susan Muse of Lewisburg and three brothers, Henry, Robert and Howard.  He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carolyn Claypoole Muse, his sons, Russell Muse III (Ali Mor) of Irvine, California and Todd Muse, Kingsport, Tennessee, his step-daughter, Whitney Grimes (Rick) and four granddaughters.
