Sharon Lea Murphy, 72, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at her residence at Story Point Assisted Living. Mrs. Murphy was a 1970 graduate of Mason County High School and a graduate of Transylvania University. Sharon was a math teacher and later served as a counselor for Norwood City Schools. Sharon also owned and operated the "Sunshine Squares" square dancing company where she taught as a square dance instructor.

Sharon was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 14, 1952 the daughter of the late Ioline Willett Murphy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Abney; one aunt, Hazel Willett of Greenwhich, OH; her friends, Lorrie and Erv Friedrichs of Cincinnati, OH and Bonnie Mitchell of Maysville, KY; her cat, Katie and several cousins.

Funeral services for Sharon Murphy will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at noon on Friday, February 28, 2025. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org
