Always the mother of her two boys, Susan
Brothers Mayo had her homecoming on
May 25, 2024. Born in Maysville on February 6, 1948, as Susan Maureen Brothers, Sue was a proud Maysvillian and a proud Bulldog as a 1966 graduate of Maysville High School, the "Slicks of '66." Sue attended college at Eastern Kentucky University and worked in the hospitality industry, managing catering at hotels in Maysville and Myrtle Beach, and the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, and then managing hotels in Maysville, Lexington, Winchester and London. She also worked in the radio broadcast business for WFTM, and served as the Maysville Tourism Director in the 1990s. Sue was a shining example of a strong single mother, raising her two sons Kelly (married to Tracie Mayo) and Travis and always making them her top priority, making many sacrifices to make sure they were taken care of. Always selfless, Sue instilled in her sons the values of family, hard work, loyal friends, and faith. Sue is survived by her sons Kelly and Travis, her brother Glenn Brothers (married to Bobbie Brothers), and her grandchildren Peyton, Parker, Emily and Chad. She joins her Mom Wilma Perry Brothers and her Dad Maurice "Buddy" Brothers, and her brothers Robert "Bob" Brothers and James "Jimmy" Brothers. Never gone from our hearts, Sue is now with the angels.

The family will host a private graveside memorial at a later date.
