Obituary

Heaven received the beautiful soul of Tamela Sue (Tull) Baumgartner on February 15, 2025 due to Cardiac Arrest. Her sudden and untimely passing has created a hole in the hearts of her loved ones that will never be replaced, but Heaven must surely be thrilled to have such a woman of God in its presence now. Tammi SO loved the Lord and has been excited to meet her Creator for a long time. We find great peace in knowing that she is with Him now.

Anyone who knew or met Tammi could not help but know how much she loved the Lord! She wanted nothing more in this world than to have everyone know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and passionately prayed for that daily. Tammi loved deeply and fiercely, and everyone on the receiving end of that love was blessed.

Tammi's life had many twists and turns. She became a mom to her son Jeremy Tull at a very young age. She attended Cosmetology School and went on to have a very successful business using her natural talent and hard work for several years in Maysville. She also worked at Desha's for a time and between the two places gained many friends. After dedicating her life to the Lord, she traveled to Rhema Bible College in Oklahoma where she met her husband, John Baumgartner. After returning to Maysville, they had a daughter they named Hannah Joy. The three of them then moved to Florence where she worked for Delta Airlines for several years before getting injured on the job. After her injury, she focused her time on parenting and homemaking. She was also regularly active in their church and volunteered for a variety of ministries. Later she became 'Mimi' to her sons' 4 children (Joseph, Jeremiah, Lydia and Sophia Tull). She adored her grandkids and spending time with them was one of her favorite things to do.

Everything Tammi pursued she did with extreme passion. It was one of her defining characteristics, and very endearing to those who knew her. When her brother was sick and in the hospital, she stayed with him 24/7 for weeks and put her life on hold to do so. When her mom's life partner Nate was declining in health, she helped take care of him, and after his passing helped take care of her mother until she moved into assisted living. When she became a Christian, she shared the Gospel with anyone with ears and led many others to the Lord.

Tammi was an extremely creative person and was always looking for a new way to express that; which she found through painting, sketching, jewelry making, ceramics, tending to her flowers, creating beautiful candies, and doing makeup and hair. She also had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the church for many years. But, her favorite time to sing was when she was holding her kids and later grandkids on her lap and rocking them. She was an outstanding cook and loved to share her amazing dishes with family and friends. A couple of the family favorites were her potato and macaroni salads, mac n cheese (a grandkid's favorite), and spaghetti and meatballs. She also made an amazing fudge that was her Grannies recipe, that she always shared with others. Tammi was a very animated storyteller. She could take an average circumstance and turn it into an elaborate tale that would leave you laughing with delight.

Tammi's love of the outdoors began as a child spending weekends on her Granny and Papaws farm. She would often recall fond memories of her time spent there and say they were some of her favorites. She also found great joy driving around with the windows rolled down, hair blowing, and music cranked while searching for the perfect spot to watch a sunset. She also maintained a swimming pool at their home for many years and loved spending time soaking up the sun while watching her family and friends enjoying the pool and hot tub.

Tammi was born July 15, 1960, in Quantico, Virginia where her father was stationed in the Marine Corps. She was the first-born child to Adrin Earl Tull Jr, and Helen Louise Cooper. She is survived by her mother Helen Tull, husband John, son Jeremy Tull (Marainda) and their three children (Jeremiah, Lydia, Sophia), grandson Joseph (Jo Jo) Tull, daughter Hannah (Hayden) Joy Baumgartner, sister Kim Tull Narges (Randy), and their two children Madison and Pierce, and other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and brother Adrin Jeffery Tull.

Funeral services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2025 with Rev. Tony Liess officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from Noon until the hour of the service.

As a testament to Tammi's unwavering faith, the last thing she posted on Facebook within 24 hours of her passing was a repost that follows:

"I am a woman who recognizes that her identity is fully found in Jesus, not in anyone or anything else. My value, purpose, and worth have already been established by God in His Word. I am who He says I am."

Rest well Tammi. You will live in our hearts forever!
