Obituary

Hillsboro, KY – Wanda Helen Compton Hall, 89, of Hillsboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

She was born on July 10, 1936 in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late W. F. and Dolly Hamm Compton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. R. Hall, by her daughter, Angelique Hester and by two sisters, Ruby McGuire and Lillian Moore.

Wanda is survived by seven siblings which include her sister, Suzanne (David) Cox with whom she had resided for the past twenty-six years; sisters, Betty Harris of Morehead, KY, Teresa McRoberts of Fleming County, KY and brothers, Bill Compton, Jim (Judy) Compton and Larry (Penny) Compton all of Fleming County, KY and Darrell (Michelle) Compton of Indiana. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that all referred to her as "Granny". She was a wonderful Grandmother to all of them and they will miss her greatly.

Wanda was a former business owner in South Carolina until she moved back to Kentucky twenty-six years ago. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church in Rowan County, Kentucky, where she sung in the choir and was an active member until her illness. Above all, she loved time spent with her family, especially all of her babies and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

At Wanda's request, no services will be planned.

The family would like to give their great appreciation to the UK-St. Claire Hospice staff of Morehead, Kentucky and to the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky. Everyone that cared for Wanda went above and beyond to show her and the family great care, love, kindness and compassion in every possible way. These special people will forever be in our hearts and will be remembered as true angels on earth.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at knoxbrothersfuneralhome.com
