Maysville – Wanda Lester, 76, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center. She was the widow of James Michael Lester, Sr. who passed in 2019. Wanda was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on September 24, 1946 the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Lowe Lucas.

She is survived by her three children, Darlene Curtis, Mary Waldren (Donnie) and James Michael Lester, Jr. (Mary Coffman); six grandchildren, Darlene Gilbert, Jacob Curtis, Dalton Curtis (Skibby), David Allen, Alexa Meade (JP) and Matthew Arnold; one great grandchild, Maxwell Truesdell and nine siblings, Frederick Lucas, Shirley Lucas (Mary), Carl Lucas (Sue O'Cull), Alpha Gilbert, Ailene Adkins, Alberta Florence, Lois Howard (Jerry), Caroline Torgrimson (Robert) and Terri Duncan (John) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Lucas and Albert Lucas and her son-in-law, Billy Joe Curtis.

Funeral services for Wanda Lester will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2023 with Bro. Jason Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Michael Lester, Jr., Johnathan Duncan, Adam Duncan, Jacob Curtis, Dalton Curtis, David Allen, Anthony Florence and Kenny Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Waldren, Freddy Lucas, Dennis Humphries, John Duncan and Matthew Arnold.
